Hailey Craig shows The Elm staff how to edit photos

The Elm staff has made it through another day of boot camp! Aside from writing articles and giving interviews, the staff has attended many information sessions. These have either been lead by the editors or special guests, who provide everyone with important information. Today the staff attended a photography and photojournalism workshop lead by The Elm’s Photo Editor, Hailey Craig’17. During this session Hailey walked the staff through the key components of photojournalism. Hailey stressed the importance of taking proper photos that show a clear and recognizable subject line. Photojournalism tells a story and photographers should be aware of this while taking pictures. Make sure your photos are centered and in focus to ensure the best quality possible, and always remember the rule of thirds. Hailey encourages anyone taking photos to follow these tips. If anyone is interested in becoming a photographer for The Elm come to our Monday meeting at 6:30p.m. in the Sears House.
