Christmas Presents on a Budget

wrapped-christmas-presentChristmas may seem like it is still quite far away but it will be here before we know it. There are only two weeks of classes, finals week, then we are off to spend the holidays with our families. Before you leave campus, you might be thinking about getting Christmas presents for your friends. This can be a difficult task at times because, if you are a freshman, you might not be very close to your new friends at school yet. Here are a few ideas for freshmen or anyone else looking for simple gifts to give this holiday.

Most of the time, a gift made with love is the best type to give. As college students, we are all trying to save money any chance we get. Handmade gifts can only cost a few dollars and you can always craft several of the same things and give them to multiple friends. This helps to save time and money. Some good DIY gifts would be a personalized painted wine glass, a picture frame with a special picture inside, or some homemade goodies. Even if you aren’t the most artistic, your friends will still appreciate the thought.

Another idea is to get your friends something that reminds them of how you met. Head to the shops downtown and get a little trinket from Chestertown. Whenever they look at it in the future, they will remember all the fun times they had at WAC and all their great friends, like you!

Christmas does not have to be about giving the biggest and best presents but it is nice to let your friends know that you appreciate them. Whether they are old or new, share your love and holiday spirit with all of your friends this holiday season.
