February is officially upon us which means many things: Birthday Ball, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, but on February 17th, national Random Acts of Kindness Day is spreading world wide to bring other people joy and happiness. We all should strive to be kind to others everyday, but why not make an extra effort on a national holiday? An act of kindness goes so much farther than most people realize. You may not straight away realize it, but just holding the door for someone or smiling at a stranger makes their day a thousand times better. Even being a good friend, doing the dishes for your family, or even helping a classmate with an assignment can be an important part of someone’s day. With Valentine’s Day and Random Acts being so close together, it’s a great time to break out of your comfort zone to help someone else. Don’t be afraid to smile and say hi to people, it really does have an impact!
So go out an spread kindness anyway that you can. Your small act could have an entire butterfly effect, meaning that it could make someone else be kind and so on. You never know what people are going through and a simple smile could turn someone’s day around. Being kind to other is also great for the soul and will make you feel a million times better. There is no better feeling than bringing joy to others so give it a try this month!
